The carved “X-bracing” that you’ll see beneath the soundhole of a Bashkin Guitar reflects Michael’s holistic approach to design. It’s both visually elegant and an innovative tool for balancing the guitar’s voice. Michael’s design philosophy came into focus during his studies with Harry Flieschman and Ervin Somogyi. “Wood is one of nature’s most remarkable gifts,” he says. “The ideal guitar allows the wood to fully express itself, both visually and tonally, with every element in perfect balance.” Michael builds in Colorado, USA for players around the world. He has several designs, available in a wide spectrum of woods.
I am honoured to exhibit at the Holy Grail Guitar show and, importantly for me, meet the other guitar makers at the show and see some of the best guitars being made today.
