Mike attended the Roberto-Venn School of luthiery in 1993 and started his luthiery career the following year. In 1998 he opened his workshop in Tempe AZ, focusing on steel string acoustics. He now lives and works on the central coast of California. Each year he makes a limited number of steel string acoustic guitars achieving creative artistic designs while using modern technology. His focus is on high-quality craftsmanship, and he enjoys seeking out choice exotic woods for both visual and tonal excellence. Mike has returned to his luthiery roots having recently designed and launched a successful line of electric guitars.
For me the HGGS is all about reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. Attending this show is both so insprational and humbling at the same time, I’m always so impressed with the creative designs and execution of our luthiery community.
