Starting as a hobbyluthier, Gerhard Schöpp took up building guitars in 2008. He later decided to attend the Hallstatt school for luthiery, from which he graduated with a masters degree in stringed instrument making, including both violins and guitars. Gerhard opened his own workshop in his hometown Zell am See in 2018, where he focuses on building high class steel string guitars, archtop guitars, violins and repairs. He likes to use wood from local sources, as it is lighter and makes his instruments more responsive. Gerhard’s work stands out due to his attention to detail, flawless workmanship and sound quality.
The musician of today needs better instruments. The Holy Grail Guitar Show is an excellent opportunity to create awareness for the quality a custom-made guitar can have.
